The seconds team were heavily beaten by Clontarf in the O’Connor J5 cup out in Castle Avenue. Tallaght had a bad start and conceded two tries in ten minutes to trail 14-0. They got back into it after that though and didn’t concede again for the rest of the half. However, in the second half things fell apart and an experienced Clontarf team ran in six more tries, two of which they converted. At least Tallaght got on the scoreboard with the final play of the game when winger Darran Kearney scored a try to leave the final score at 48-5.
